Of Mice and Terminators

It wasn't only the lucrative success of Sonic and Mario that developers aspired to duplicate on the Amiga. Another pot of jewels at the end of the neverending rainbow was Street Fighter II. We did receive a port of our own in 1992 courtesy of US Gold... which beat 'em aficionados considered a pale imitation of the SNES and arcade iterations. Regardless of the port's quality, it sure isn't a Team 17 property so they kept plugging away to devise their own equivalent one-on-one fighting tournament. Body Blows was their contender; an original, independent project designed solely for Amiga and DOS platforms. They managed to invent some memorable - albeit often derivative - combatants, primed with their own catchphrases and special moves, capable of execution via a single button joystick.

A year later, Team 17 enhanced their preliminary offering with two respectable upgrades; Body Blows Galactic and Ultimate Body Blows, contributing enough new characters, moves, and scenarios to make them worthwhile purchases.
